Meet Alyssa
Alyssa Gangeri has been baking since she was a little girl in her grandparents kitchen. Her passion for food and art led her to the Culinary Institute of America where she graduated with her Associates in Baking Pastry Arts.
After graduating she traveled north and south to gain the experience she needed. From Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club in Cape Cod, Massachusetts to the Ritz Carlton in South Beach her passion and love for baking grew everyday. After she found her way to Houston, Texas and opened up Houston's first cupcake boutique, she was ready to tackle NYC!
Since arriving in New York City she has worked for celebrity chef's Gray Kunz and Tom Colicchio, but her passion for cake decorating never faded.
Currently Alyssa is the Executive Chef at Riverwalk Bar and Grill. Her passion for food and cakes is what keeps her motivated everyday. Her cakes are for celebrations and what better way to celebrate then to get an edible piece of sweet art!
Her NEWEST venture was competing on The Food Networks new show Sweet Genius! Sweet Genius is a sugar-packed competition series that challenges America's premier pastry chefs to create magical and inventive desserts given inspiration, surprise ingredients and a finite amount of time. The chefs must compete in three unique pastry challenges judged by Ron Ben-Israel — the Sweet Genius himself — who will critique their work and determine who will receive the $10,000 cash prize!
